Seymour PR to promote engineering and FM sector
Facilities management services provider ABM UK has appointed Seymour PR to design and deliver its Junior Engineering Engagement Programme (J.E.E.P) campaign to change the perception of facilities management and engineering in the UK.
Seymour PR will launch the campaign to local, national, broadcast and trade media before releasing a white paper to the industry next year. The boutique agency will use its experience on its previous “change campaigns”, such as Sainsbury’s Waste less, Save more campaign, to drive the company’s ambition.
Led by managing director Carie Barkhuizen, the account team will also create a national and local PR and social plan to move the campaign beyond a pilot stage and use ABM UK’s mobile “J.E.E.P Hub” to promote the industry to children across the country.
Barkhuizen said: “Our role is to take a long-term view of how we change these outdated perceptions and show the industry for what it really is. We’re over the moon to be launching J.E.E.P, which will work with 36 West London students in the pilot year, and numerous others around the country in years to come.”
Adam Baker, ABM UK’s business development and marketing director, added: “This industry has an image problem and Carie and her team share our passion for changing that.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the results of the launch phase and taking the lessons we learn to strengthen the initiative and encourage young people and parents alike to consider the opportunities which engineering and facilities management offer.”
